Who we are

The CSHG (Hotel Management School of Galicia) is a university training centre for hotel and culinary managers, using the most up-to-date and efficient methodologies to enable students to reach the highest professional levels in their future careers.

The strategic importance of tourism in Galicia and the need for qualified hotel management professionals led the Galician government to create the school in 1993. The first academic course began two years later.

Since 1995, the first year of the course Diploma in Hospitality Business Management, the CSHG has trained 2,500 hotel managers who are currently working in hotel and tourism companies all over the world. It offers the degree in Hospitality Business Management with specialisations in Hotel Management and Gastronomy, an official course of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).

It is a school attached to the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and offers an official degree at the Compostela campus

History

The CSHG project began in 1993 as a response to the hotel management sector’s need for qualified hotel managers. The Xunta de Galicia therefore developed an ambitious project to train future professionals through  Axencia Turismo de Galicia. the company responsible for promoting tourism in Galicia.

The school is located in A Barcia, a quiet and natural area, with gardens and sports facilities that provide students with the necessary balance to their academic duties.

The idea was to create a prestigious school, with the best results and the most efficient methodology. To achieve this, the project was supported by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and L´École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). The Swiss school designed the curriculum, course methodology, the construction and distribution of classrooms and the specialised training staff.

The CSHG offers a degree in Hospitality Business Management, with specialisations in Hotel Management and Gastronomy.
