The Xunta works with the sector in the design of the new Degree of Gastronomic Innovation and Management Hotelera of the CSHG.

The conselleiro of Culture and Tourism participated today in the first meeting of the committee of experts to which assisted representatives of the University of Santiago de Compostela, professionals of the sector, experts in sustainability and ancient students of the CSHG, The aim is to begin to give in the course 2021-2022 new east degree that will have the direct implication of the sector through the system of dual training

The conselleiro of Culture and Tourism, Román Rodríguez, accompanied by the director of Obtains it Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, participated today in the first meeting of the committee of experts in which, beside professionals of the academic field and of the hotel and catering industry and alimentary, stepped more in the process to design the new Degree of Gastronomic Innovation and Management Hotelera in the Upper Centre of Hospitality industry of Galicia.

The headline of Culture and Tourism stood out that the Xunta de Galicia is working with the aim that this can begin to give in the course 2021-2022. ?It treats of a degree of consensus in what we took into account the contributions of all the sectors involved?, it explained Román Rodríguez. In this sense, in the last months did different queries to the sectors doing a conjoint work in which it concluded the need to bet by the innovation and the sustainability and to work directly with the sector. ?We bet by a hybrid profile, with training in gastronomy and management innkeeper, and by a system of dual training in which the students have contact with the professionals of the sector?, it detailed.

The meeting to follow advancing in this design was a multidisciplinary meeting in which, in addition to the conselleiro and of the director of Tourism, also participated experts of the University of Santiago de Compostela, ancient students of the Upper Centre of Hospitality industry of Galicia, representatives of the Clúster of Tourism and of the Clúster Alimentary and responsible of chains hotelera like Carrís Hotels, Goose Hotels, Meliá Hotels and Intercontinental Hotels. Also they were cooks like Pepe Solla, Javi Olleros and Francisco Pérez or representatives of the sector innovation, of the Foundation Atlantic Diet or experts in sustainability and circular economy.

New stage

The Upper Centre of Hospitality industry of Galicia will begin to give this degree inside a new stage in which will carry out diverse performances to improve the installations and services of the complex. Specifically, the Galician Government is allocating near of 1,6 million euros that will allow to improve the conditions of energetic efficiency acting in the covers, in the closings or in the illumination.

These works, that at present are under way and that is foreseen that they finalise next summer, add to the creation of a new nursery of companies. It treats of a project that has a contribution of 80.000 euros that will allow to adapt the third plant of the residence of students to create dispatches and places of work for new emprendedores.
